U2 Concert in Phoenix

October 26, 2009 - 11:21pm

U2 is my favorite band. Their music has touched me throughout my life and continues to do so. They hold a very special place in my heart. I've been lucky enough to have seen U2 in concert three times in Dallas and now once in Phoenix. Tuesday night was the fourth live show I've attended.

U2 performed at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona for the 360 Tour. It was a great show with a HUGE stage. Reportedly the largest stage ever created. (It was impressive, but I like the curtain of lights from the last tour a bit better.) The best part of the show for me was attending with Chris and my best friend, Summer, who flew in all the way from Denver!

It was a very special night. Some highlights:
  • Chris slipping the hostess at the sushi restaurant a $20 so that we wouldn't have to wait an hour for a table. Instead we were seated immediately. We had a lovely dinner and arrived at the stadium only a few minutes before The Black Eyed Peas went on. Perfect timing!
  • It was my first time to hear Fergie live. She has an AMAZING voice and looked hot!
  • Larry coming out on stage first.
  • Bono bringing three sisters up on stage and dancing with each one.
  • The video screen!
  • Bono's jacket with what appeared to be lasers lighting it. And the microphone that was lit up like neon.
  • The band shaking hands and hugging each other at the end of the show. They appeared to be thanking each other for a great night. WOW.
