Tetanus

December 5, 2003 - 6:30pm

On Monday I went to the doctor for a general health check. (Didn't they use to call those "physicals?") Since I haven't had one since high school, I was given a tetanus shot. A whole five days after the fact, I still have a welt and some soreness in my arm. It's a relief this shot lasts ten years.

i went to the doctors two weeks ago for a checkup, and she told me that i'd have to get tetanus shot, cuz i hadn't had one in over ten eyars. i was weraing a really cool comfortable racer back tank. the doctor didn't even ask if i was rigth handed, she just stuck the tetanus needle stright down deep into my right arm up high by my shoulder, in the really meaty muscly part. the needle just was a little stick, but then she pushed down on the syringe and suddenly my whole upper arm felt all tight and achey as she pushed the tetanus deep into my right deltoid muscle up high by my shoulder, she told me to relax--yeah right!--as my muscle naturally tightened up from the tetanus. the tetanus shot ached for three days. boy! am i glad that tetanus is good for ten years, yeah! i wish that tetanus didn't have to go deep in the muscle--oh well!
