What a big day! The United States of America has inaugurated the first black President. It's a huge day and very emotional. I wish I could have been in DC for it (except for the cold part...its a lovely 70 degrees in Arizona today and only 26 in DC). The press is talking about the excitement in DC and I can only imagine how amazing it must feel there. This is a huge, huge day. I'm proud of this country.
It just feels like this President is different. At the luncheon after the ceremony, he thanked a lot of people. Included in that list he thanked the waitstaff who served his lunch. I'm so impressed with how human he is. He consistently says that this isn't about him, but about the country and where the country is going.
