Four Things

February 8, 2006 - 8:26pm

Everyone is making lists of four things. (Like Karen, DaveZilla, Dooce, b-may, etc.)

My attention span is typically so poor that I only get through the first category before I wander somewhere else. But in this case, the first category is pretty interesting!

Four Jobs You've Had In Your Life:
1. Cashier at a grocery store - Where I heard through the grapevine that my manager was going to fire me (simply because she didn't like me) so I gave two week notice. Instead of showing up on my last day, I went to see Duran Duran in concert. I should add that I was 16 at the time and my work ethic is a little stronger now.
2. Waitress - My boyfriend at the time, Heath, ended up working at the same restaurant. I was the only female on the waitstaff for the whole summer I worked at this restaurant. It was soooo fun. Heath and I didn't tell anyone we were dating in order to be "professional." Ha! Eventually everyone found out just before I went back to college.
3. Answering phones & making pizza at Papa Johns - It was the perfect job to have while in college. It required little thought and everyone I worked with was fun. Not to mention the management of both stores I worked at were incredible. From my experience, Papa John's was a VERY well-run company. However, by the time I stopped working there, I couldn't eat the pizza anymore. Even the smell of it made me sick. Luckily, years later, I'm over it.
4. High school art teacher - Best and worst job ever.

What are four jobs you've had?
