My mother told me not to break his heart. I assured her I wouldn't. I couldn't. After all, this was just casual dating. We were both very clear on the status of the relationship.

Saturday morning he called to say, "I love you."

It is comforting to see that I am not the only one whom the universe makes fun of. I am reminded of a movie line. Boy and Girl decide they cannot be together. Later, she confesses her love for him, and he replies: "I thought that we had decided not to fall in love." And *that* is the way it works !

wah-waaaaaaah I was on the receiving end of the same once. It wasn't until she left out of frustration and hurt that I realized I liked her more than I thought. Double-slap.
