Class night was very encouraging. I felt more in the groove. I felt that I followed the lecture better than I had previously. The instructor reviewed topics from the previous weeks and hearing them again helped it stick. He also offered to do an extra session to help with the practice problems that I know will help. It was encouraging to see so many people interested in an extra session too. During break I talked with various people who are feeling the same way I am. They are struggling to adjust to school and find it hard to swallow all of this new information at once. It really put things in perspective for me. I've been so worried that because of my arts background I'm at a disadvantage. But I've realized that this is not the case at all. We are all in a brand new experience and though some people may be more comfortable with some ideas than I am, it's really a new experience for everyone. After all, it's academics which is not the same as real life work experience.
So all in all, I'm feeling much better. I'm doing the right thing by reading and studying as much as possible. It's just part of life that it'll take awhile for these new concepts to sink in. I'm going to relax a little bit and quit worrying about how quickly I'm picking things up.
Dream
In this morning's dream, Tiger and I were communicating in a more human way than we do in real life. He wasn't actually talking (duh, everyone knows dogs can't talk!), but he was nodding and making facial expressions when I asked him questions. I was asking him how his teeth felt and he indicated they were doing good. I wish he could really communicate like that!
Wireless Card
The new wireless card worked like a charm last night in class. So, the lesson learned is when the cheap one doesn't work, go buy a more expensive one.
