I should be going to bed. Actually, I should have gone to bed a couple hours ago. Tomorrow is a big day. The entire weekend is big. Chris is moving to Phoenix.
At 6:50am tomorrow, I get on a plane to Dallas. After I arrive, the plan is to load the U-Haul. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, and we won't have any rain. Lord knows Dallas has had enough rain this season (the 3rd of 4th wettest on record). After the truck is loaded, Chris and I are having dinner with our parents, both sets.
Sunday morning is open, I figure we'll do last minute things in Arlington. In the afternoon, I'll be attending Summer's baby shower. She'll be in town for other family activities and the family decided it was the time to throw her baby shower. I feel very lucky that it happens to be the same weekend I'll be in town. I can't wait to see her, it's been entirely too long. I'm hoping she looks at least a little bit pregnant. Is that silly?
Chris and I plan to start driving to Phoenix on Monday morning. The plan is to drive to El Paso on the first day. That should take approximately 10 hours. Dang, Texas is big. The second day won't be as long on the first but will probably be slightly more miserable due to the heat. Coworkers were making fun of us moving in July. I did it two years ago so it seems right for Chris to move in July too. (For the record, I told him it wasn't a good idea to be in Phoenix while it is so hot and suggested he wait. He didn't want to wait.)
Once we arrive in Phoenix, I'm not entirely sure what we'll do. Good thing we've got 15 hours of driving to figure it out. I'm sure it will revolve around socializing the dogs. I'm anxious to see how they get along. Hopefully the dogs are the smoothest part of this transition. Unpacking of the truck is to happen on the 4th with help from friends (thank goodness...I don't think I can help carry a 300 lb table saw off the truck). Then barbecue, swimming, and drinking to celebrate our independence. Wish us luck.
