On July 17, 2005, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona for a job promotion. Prior to my move, I was living in Pantego, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. For the first time in my adult life, I am not a resident of Texas. At heart, I will always be a Texan. Though I love Arizona because I love the desert. It’s such a magical place where beauty is subtle. Plus I’ve always felt that being hot is better than being cold. (And my first summer in Arizona has been hot!)
I currently work for the same software company I’ve worked with for the past four years. It’s a great company with great products and incredible people. I’m lucky that I’ve moved around the company and they keep offering me new opportunities. There’s always a new challenge and an opportunity to learn. In my new role, I work directly with customers as a type of customer relationship manager. I’m still in software support just less operational and more strategic than my last position. I’m good with customers and this role gives me the opportunity to shine.
Tiger, my greyhound and the best dog in the whole world, passed away on August 5th. I miss him dearly. The only immediate family in the area is Bentley, my younger sister’s dog. Bentley came with Tiger to Arizona but now he’s just stuck with me. Luckily we make a good team.
My parents live in the Dallas area. My younger sister, Kristen, lives in San Diego, California, with her fiance, Chris. Their wedding is planned for November 12, 2005. My older sister, Karen, and her husband, J, live near Geilenkirchen, Germany.
Right now I don’t really have any hobbies other than this website. The reason for this is mostly because I’ve essentially been working two jobs. For the last two and a half years I spent in Dallas, I took classes at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in order to receive my MBA from the Cox School of Business. It was an incredible program and completely life-changing for me. SMU’s professional MBA program truly deserves the high ranks it receives from nationally recognized publications. Since at the time of this writing (August 2005), I’ve only been out of school for a short while, I haven’t picked up any new hobbies.
I love blogging and reading blogs specifically for the social networking it has allowed me. I also love photos probably because the connection to people. Finally, I have a deep love for art and the things that can be communicated through visual means.
